Vision: The vision of Swans Creek Library is to create a safe, nurturing environment in which all students can successfully seek information and ideas for their educational, informational and recreational need.

Mission:
* Provide a program that will develop positive learning experiences that will contribute to lifelong learning.
* Work together with teachers, administrators and parents as instructional partners to collaborate on educational goals.
* Design learning strategies tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
* Provide instructional literacy research that will result in authentic learning.

Library Policies
The library is open all day for check-out. Kindergartners may check-out one book. First - Fifth grades can check out two books and a third book if the class is working on a book project. Books are checked out for two weeks. Books can be renewed for a longer period if needed. Overdue notices go home at the end of each month. Classes are encouraged to have an extra check-out time due to the block schedule.
Library Instruction
Swans Creek Library is used as part of the block schedule. Library instruction includes research skills, book care, library etiquette, information management, and collaborative instruction to support the curriculum.
